Short-Term Stay After Hospital Admission
Patients that have been admitted to a hospital for a minimum of three nights may have the option for a short-term stay in our center to receive 24-hour Nursing care and Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy up to seven-days each week. Patients may also request a short-term Respite in-patient stay for periods of a few days to several months.

In-Patient Residential Stay
Patients that require a permanent in-patient stay may be admitted from the Hospital, Assisted Living Facility or Home after receiving an admission order from their primary physician.

[review] => Admin staff was very efficient with the admission from the hospital. They took care to cover every aspect of the process from admit to discharge.
The Rehab Team was very good with my Mom to help her get stronger so she could come home.
The Nursing Staff overall was very good. But there were some problems with communication between Family members. This was addressed with Admin at discharge.
I really feel that most Nursing staff did a great job.
I am grateful to every one that helped my Mom come home.

[review] => I could not have better decision when I determined that my mother Maria would be transferred from the hospital to Hunter’s Creek Nursing &Rehab Facility. When she arrived there, my mother was not able to walk and a week later today she was able to walk 50 feet because the Fisioterapy team (Ray and team) is doing an amazing job. The nurses are real ANGELS ( J.J, Sheila, Mayra), and the others that I wish to know all their names who give their time to worry about the others and get happy when they see the improvement. They are always on top of everything. The patients, cleaning, food.Everything is absolutely amazing. Michelle, Cathy and the team always help with meetings notify you of all the progress and help with the insurance as well. Ciera and Jose, the staff members who gave me a tour of the facility, were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating.

I was given the wrong medcine and my IV was not properly taken care of. When I left I was suppose to have walker and commode waiting for me at home. Did not get it till after five days after I was home. Two ladies in office who were suppose to take care of everything didn't know how to fill out
the approite forms. I checked myself out after 4 days. I was able to take better care of myself at home. I would never,ever recommend this place to anyone!!!

But the administration will waste your time telling you what they think you want to hear, but did NOTHING they said they would, will never send anyone in to do Rehab but will falsify documents claiming patients did receive Rehab. Will leave patient in urine all day long in a wheelchair in the hallway and at the end of the day return them to bed without ever changing them. MILLY is so under qualified for her job, her only opinion is to lie after lie while putting the well-being of a patients in harm due to her just not understanding what her jobs is. And how to deal with the needs of patients.The good news is she won't be there long, due to the dangerous conditions she is leaving patients in. It's a shame places like this are out there

[review] => Loved Ones Beware ! On October 11, 2022 my dear cousin Martin got into a car accident and unfortunately ended up as a quadriplegic and on a ventilator to help him breathe. He stayed at Bayfront Health Hospital in St. Petersburg after his accident for seven months fighting, struggling, wanting to live and getting better. The hospital finally transferred him to Hunter's Creek, Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Orlando. Six days after his arrival at the nursing home he was sent to the local hospital and arrived oxygen deprived. Within hours he'd passed away. I am not sure what happened or the sort of care he'd received while at the nursing home, but after struggling to live for seven months he passed away within six days of arriving at Hunter's Creek Nursing Home. I would be very cautious about sending anybody to this institution. Blessings

[review] => I chose this facility in spite of the staff having a 2 star rating . I wanted to be close to home. It was a mistake. Upon arrival from the hospital I was greeted with “hellos” but there was no nurse to assist me from the stretcher to the bed. The medical transport left me sitting on the bed. Because it was evening I had to wait until morning to leave the bed. When I needed to go to the bathroom and could not rise from the toilet and needed assistance I was told No. I was left sitting on the toilet for 20 minutes and when I rang the help bell the employee that came told me she didn’t work in that area and could not help me. This treatment continued until after being in the facility for 24 hours I called my husband to come and get me. The nurses need trained and they need classes on empathy and compassion.

It was all true blue the place the aroma of different flowers in every folio. There was one nurse that I observed, as I was doing a walk-through with Ciera one of the administrators, very fine professional lady all that she indicated that they all work as one no matter what department they come from in the facilities, but most of all is the help that they give you the knowledge so you could overcome bringing in your family member I was totally please in contempt from Shannon and Ciera the administration office to the receptionist, Lissette, and from the department of Jessica from of Billing

The neighborhood is beautiful and convenient, the facility is clean, comfortable, and well run, and the nursing staff is both gentle and kind.

[review] => My mother stayed here for over a month for rehabilitation. The staff was so kind and caring for her. The activities were amazing. I never knew my mother like to color! She brag about winning bingo, even though my mom is in a wheelchair they always managed to get her where she needed to be. The physical therapist worked with her daily. The caring doctor and administrators were amazing. Thank you!

The care for each resident that came to that building is astounding .

[review] => We took my uncle there after several surgeries. It started out really great with staff and very responsive. Than they moved to my uncle to another room supposedly due to cases of Postivie Cases of COVID. Of course I was not aware this is why he was moved. I was told he was moved for a quiter place. The room he was moved too, the person next to him is in a lot of pain. Screams day and night can't sleep yelling which does not allow anyone to sleep. His TV is always on 24/7 and very loud. I called the center everyday and asked them to move and text them. They kept telling they are working on. This was Last week Wednesday today is Tuesday 06/28/2022. I called them again of course the Director called me and was very unpleasant telling me that they are working on it as Fast as they can. So one week is fast for them for somone to not be sleeping who needs rehab and care. If I would have know this is their service I would have taken him to another place. It's bad enough the place looks like jail but also bad service is not acceptable.

[review] => Wow, I want to say to everyone who reads this statement, I am a former patient who was hospitalized for 3 months in the rehabilitation process, where I suffered severe burns on my body, and had the best care of my life with caregivers, nurses, therapists and doctors visiting me daily and monitoring my evolution day by day. I have a very special affection for them and I highly recommend, you can entrust your family member to their care, which will be well attended.

I get that but all of his family items and personal things were in a bag shoved in the bottom of a closet. He is bedridden and they actually were so lazy they could not even provide him with his things. How long does it take to set up some pictures on a dresser for him to see? Just goes to show they couldn’t care less about these poor elderly people.

I have been working with a relative, who is a retired Head Nurse, County Nurse along with being a seasoned Professor of Nursing. My assessment of services provided has been a cumulative group assessment, which exceeds all expectations.
We are very grateful for the Pandemic rules that are being enforced for the best care possible. We call my mother frequently and discuss with the nursing staff directly on a very regular basis. We are contacted of all significant changes in health and wellbeing immediately and the plan for resolutions, with consistent status updates throughout the process.
During my mothers stay, the rehab team and the other staff have been working to remove from the feeding tube dependency. It was just confirmed as success today as she is eating again without complications. Great Job to the complete team support.

They leave the residents sitting in feces and urine for hours.. I had to call so many times Ans took forever to get through to get them to change her. My grandmother had multiple bed sores as well. They rarely did the rehab with her like they were supposed to. This facility should be shut down. Such neglect towards the patients. They do not care at all.

[review] => Care was minimal and I was so upset at how my Mom was left with no way to speak to anyone at the nurses desk when help was needed. In a room alone with the door closed (their Covid policy). If she was in pain, hurt, had fallen, there’s only a button to push which is more often than not, ignored. She was left for three days with blood on her face and a dirty cannula for oxygen. I cleaned her face, hands and nails. I pushed for help and waited almost 45 minutes before I had to leave the room and find a nurses aid. She said she waited three hours for someone to turn her and had to ask for everything. Speech therapist was very good. After disagreeing with their payment policy, I was told to “sign anyway” and they would make changes afterward. This is the second time my Mom has gone to this facility. Never again.

He came from hospital and could not have visitors for 14 days but never called me to set visitation the last 5 days as I called and ask with no return calls to set up. His in home nursing was not completed by them and sent him home with nothing confirmed and I / we had no service for 4 days and I had to get involved to get completed. His TV did not work most of the time he was in and I called and text them a minimal of a dozen times plus. I would never consider or send a loved one to this rehab again even if it were a last resort. Understand how disgusted here I am as not one to normally post but it is so wrong to treat seniors or any human being this way. I also requested a call from someone at this facility in upper management with Randall which I understand to run the place and have got nothing to date.

[review] => I do not know how patients are treated if they do not need Nursing Care, but my Mom was at this facility for rehab after fracturing Her back in a fall, to regain Her strength so She could go back home to live independently. She was not able to get out of bed on Her own & received no nursing assistance for the bathroom or rehab (besides sitting in bed). After being in this facility for 4 days I noticed that my Mom became delirious & incoherent. I tried for 10 days to get a Doctor to speak with me about Her condition. They were still giving Her the same medications that she was taking before her surgery, they never Reevaluated Her medication as I kept asking them to do, so I thought Her delirium was from the medication. Finally after 10 days of getting them to evaluate & doing bloodwork on my Mom, the Nurse Practitioner, Director & the Nurse had a meeting to say yes my Mom was very sick & needed to go back to the hospital. Upon arriving at the ER, my Mother was dehydrated, starving, had a Urinary Tract Infection, they never cleaned Her, Pneumonia & She was mentally unstable because of the infection in Her body!!!!!
My Mom was never shown a call button or had a TV to watch, She called for Nurses & no one came to see Her. They served Her salty broth, which she would not eat. She asked for the Ensure I brought for Her to the facility & they said it wasn’t aloud because of Her diet & they never brought Her anything else to eat. I tried for a week to talk to the Doctor/Nurse Practitioner & even called the Director about my concerns. I called/text/FaceTimed my Mom & a nurse several times every day & still could get no help/response from anyone in charge at this facility.
I am not being malicious, but NO LIVING BEING should be put through this torture & I hope this review will save many lives & this facility is changed or shut down. Yes I did report them to the State of Florida for neglect & abuse. Please do not leave your loved ones anywhere without checking on them daily!

[review] => I have been to this facility multiple times to do volunteer work and it’s always very clean and nice and the staff is wonderful. I really like spending time with the residence as well. It’s didn’t feel like a skilled facility like most others I have been to. It looks and feels more like a resort.

[review] => I recently had knee replacement surgery and decided to go into a Rehab/Nursing home for the first two weeks. I had my other knee done two years ago and knew what was involved in the recovery. After looking at three rehab/nursing facilities, I selected Hunters Creek Nursing & Rehab Center. It's very clean, the staff is helpful and physical therapy/occupational therapy was awesome. I had physical therapy and/or occupational therapy approximately one hour a day for 6 days a week. If you've had a knee replacement, you know that the goal is to bend your knee at least to 120 degrees. When I left the rehab center (two weeks later), I was already bending it to 90 degrees. That really gave me a great place to start at now that I'm getting at home physical therapy.
There is certain staff that truly touched my heart. They took great care of me and were so kind. I hope I'm remembering everyone, but if I forgot someone's name, please know I did appreciate all your help. My thanks especially go out to Bernadette (Director of Nursing), Dynice (Admissions), Chris (Social Services) and everyone in Physical therapy/occupational therapy, I appreciated all the efforts of the nutrient team who worked so hard with me to help me find food selections that worked for me. (FYI - they are open to suggestions. Also, remember you could always bring food from home, or order from Uber Eats or DoorDash if the food isn't to your liking.) The nursing staff was absolutely the best - Magdali, Chantel, Nancy, Precious, Prudence, Marie, Rose and a very special thank you to Sam and Margaret Chelekatt who were absolutely wonderful.
A note to all - Sometimes we go into this type of facility and we are cranky or don't want to be there and it's all too easy to take it out on staff. I found that being pleasant and letting the staff know how much I appreciated all they were doing for me was really appreciated by them! They work hard and they have many residents/patients to take care of. So next time you want to scream or complain, try to remember that a little kindness goes a long way. Thanks!

My Father was admitted into Hunters Creek 5 months ago.The truth about this facility and your loved one. There are so many pros and cons about nursing homes and rehab facilities. I will give you my “honest” opinion about Hunters Creek the good and the bad.
First and foremost family (meaning YOU) reading this need to be as dedicated to your loved one as Hunters Creek facility will be. My Father has been in and out of the hospital and nursing homes since 2017. As my Fathers son & POA, I have been with him every step of the way. So believe me when I say I know many nursing homes through central Florida and how they operate.
Communications: The most important thing with nursing homes is communication and YOU being involved. Hunters Creek does communicate. Five star
Admission and Payments: Nelly has always responded to all my payment concerns and really knows what she is doing when it comes to insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, AARP and supplements. Nelly five star
Certified Nurse Assistant: (CNA) The trouble with most CNA’s they come from a foreign country and do not read, write, speak or understand the English language. This is why YOU need to be involved. My Father is blessed to have Prudence as his CNA; she is very passionate, persistent, loves working with the elderly. Hunters Creek is very lucky to have Prudence five star*****
Nurses: The Director of nursing Bernadette and her team of nurses. Kayla, Magaly (Maggie), Saria (Sara) and lead nurse Luz are outstanding and do everything in their power to make sure your loved one gets what they need. These nurses have a full plate. Luz the lead nurse and I are always in contact. My Father has many health issues so having Luz understanding my concerns and working with me is a major plus. I truly appreciate Bernadette and her team of nurses. Five star
Doctors: My Fathers Primary doctor Dr. Soto. Trying to get her to understand and listen to the family member who is involved the most (ME) has been challenging to say the least. Dr. Soto is only at the facility 2 times a week and this frustrates me. In my father’s case because of the lengthy response times and the doctor absence, I have admitted my Father twice to the Emergency room. Had I waited any longer the infections would have over taken him. I am hoping we can resolve our communication issues moving forward. Dr. Soto is three star
Physical therapy PT: Lilah the director of PT is such a great part of the facility. Lilah has only been there for a short period and is excited about helping your loved one. I have had the pleasure of working with Levonne & Emily PT techs on Lilah’s team. Emily is super respectful and knowledgeable of patients and their behaviors. Levonne has a more stern approach, which, sometimes, comes off as disrespectful. Levonne is still a good tech and I understand the frustrations when trying to help someone when they are or are not in their right mind. Lilah’s team four star
Social Services: I have been dealing with Chris D. and when it comes to getting things done he is the person who can do it. Chris is constantly working around the facility doing something to help make someone’s life much easier every day. Chris has helped my Father & I a few times now. What a great person to have on your team. Chris five star
Administrator: I have meet with Michael in the hallways a few times and every time he is very respectful. Michael is a nice family man with a good vision. Congrats, Michael your facility is one of the best around and I am glad my Father is in the hands of your professionals. Some areas may need work. Everyone is doing his or her part to make you & your facility look it’s very best. Hunters Creek five star.
Bottom Line: I highly recommend Hunters Creek. This place is a beautiful facility. The Nurses, CNA’s, Doctors, Administrations, All are genuine people and love helping your family member. Even when times are more complicated, they are there to help.

[review] => Not the best place unless you are visiting and looking after your loved one every day. My father has been there for a few months and most nurses are friendly and helpful and some are not. My dad was placed in a room where there was someone else in the bed next to him and the volume from the tv and his cellphone were all the way up. Too much noise and the TV was never turned off day and night. We ask the person in charge to change my father to another room since the staff there apparently can not ask a patient to lower their volume on the tvs and it took a few days before we were taken seriously. We've had issues with my dad's food getting lost..and to top it all, a coordinator that works there by the name of Nelly or something like that..wow, she made a huge mess with my dad's insurance and then she had an attitude for being unprofessional. At one point she started airing my father's incomes and things in front of other people in the lobby, accusing us of spending his money without knowing anything about how the monies were spent all on him. That place is super expensive. It has taken me a while to sort everything out with his insurances thanks to that lady.

I have been impressed since my first days here with the attention to details provided by the rehab and nursing staff to their patients individualized needs. The management team strives daily to make sure patients needs and family concerns are met with the utmost of dignity and respect. While no place is perfect, this facility always looks at ways to make things better and to maximize the outcomes for patients who pass through short term as well as for their long term care residents. The building is clean and the food is good with the dietary department striving to make good tasting healthy meals that meet patient specific preferences. [review] => RUN FAST, DO NOT bring your loved one here—EVER! This is THE WORST NURSING HOME in Orlando. The management and nurses are inept, unprofessional, untrustworthy, untrained and lack compassion. This is a business first, and quality care is secondary. The entire staff is marginal at best, and not professionally trained nor equipped to handle complex medical issues. Aside from ignoring patients, their methodology is to medicate to the point the patient becomes too latgargic to comprehend reality. As a matter of fact, many patients there look like a bunch of minimally functioning zombies! It’s very sad to see.
I watched a patient scream for help. I informed the nurse on duty and was told the patient had to wait. The screaming went on for an hour. It was both a horrific and traumatic experience for me. Sadly, my loved one was ignored too by not consistently being fed meals nor given prescribed medications on time. Not to mention my loved one was left in feces and urine so frequently that we made it a part of our daily routine to clean up the waste ourselves. The nurses explained the inattentiveness on being OVERWHELMED and UNDERSTAFFED. Again, this happened daily and there’s just no excused for that.
Since being removed from Hunters Creek, my loved one eventually made a 180 degree turn around for the better. If you truly want quality care for your loved one, THIS PLACE IS NOT IT. Complaining to management will get you lip service. Good luck in getting someone in management on the phone to begin with to even talk to you. Their staff is extraordinarily REACTIVE and NOT PROACTIVE to concerns. I suffered great heartache and anxiety being associated with this facility. I am so thankful we are no longer a part of these ridiculous shenanigans. Scroll through these reviews and you’ll see a common thread. Families are not happy! A bunch of negative reviews is a very clear statement. Take it from me, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

[review] => A friend of mine has a family member here. He’s been there for almost a year.. ever since the first day nothing has changed or improved. I would not recommend this place ever to anyone. They do not care for the people their. They don’t check up on them, or watch over them . It’s not there family so they don’t care. Do not bring your loved ones here or even someone you know personally.

I personally would bring this facility up on charges for the services that are not being provided for individuals whose lives depend on this extend of care from a long/short term facility! It’s quite disturbing and will be investigated. How can you treat humans this way? I do not recommend this facility to any animal let alone a human being

[review] => The social worker Christine at this facility is Horrible. I call leave messages and never get a call back. Getting an answer is worse than pulling teeth. My son has been there for six months and I am trying to get him moved closer to family. Tried to transfer him to a different facility, was told the papers were faxed when I followed up with the other place they never recieved anything . So I was lied to by the staff at Hunter's Creek. Now I am trying to move him to my home state and getting zero help from these people.

[review] => Hunters Creek is dangerous plain and simple. I placed my father there and could not believe how low a standard a Rehab could be. They missed his morning medications which is dangerous . they left him in his soiled clothes till 11:30 PM so I cleaned him . They serve the worst food it was beans in a cup for dinner and ground up meat that smelled fishy it looked like cat food. I brought food in for him. It's sad that they do not care for the residence and I would not want my love one placed in a hazardous situation like that. There are other and even if you have to drive alittle further do it because ultimately you may be saving their life by not placing them there. I hope I'm saving lives. I feel sorry for the people that are there. I even heard patients crying. I had to speak my mind and experience.

Most professional staff and administrators. Very kind, thoughtful, and caring employees here. The facility is always clean, well organized, freshly painted, and sanitized daily. My Mother is satisfied on all levels of her physical therapy here. She enjoys the other patrons living here and they all like the meals. I highly recommend Hunters Creek Nursing and Rehab Center.

I recommend this facility for rehab. I couldn’t walk when I came in and in 4weeks I walked out. The staff is excellent. They took wonderful care of you. My aid that had me everyday was the best. I would definitely come back here if I needed rehab again.
